Jan 19th, 2015This needs a lot of air. First night smelled mostly of hummus and cumin. I was looking for pita chips to dip in it. Night two it was much better, with perfumey, tangy ripe berries, good acids, and good balance, though an unusual earthy note appeared in the finish.

Licorice, mint, basil. Tar, tobacco, burnt barrel. This is a wine that will always calm my pre race jitters. The vintage was amazing.
Salted boysenberry popsicle sticks end this wine with a long, long lasting finish.

Aug 3rd, 2016Giving benefit of the doubt to a producer I really like. Definitely a rustic powerhouse, but pretty tight now. The '08 was softer and ready but this bottle needs time. Glad I have more of this.
