Burgundy in color with a red rim.
Fruity on the nose with blackberries, black currants, plums, cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, sage, vegetables, light cloves and black pepper.
Medium-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, strawberries, blueberries, oak, barnyard, vanilla, dirt, cloves, mocha, coffee, dark chocolates, tobacco and peppercorn.
Medium finish with soft tannins, tart cherries and bitter herbs.
A nice everyday Zinfandel from California. Enjoyable by itself right out of the bottle. I paired it with BBQ Meats. Nicely balanced and complex, with tart cherry finish that makes it that much more interesting. Too many vegetable notes here for my taste, though.
13.9% alcohol by volume.

Aug 2nd, 2016Was decent for the price. Tasted better the next day after opening. Paid about $7 at Vons. I'm glad I tried it but I have other 'go to' wines I would buy 1st.
