Tar and smoke, high toned fruit, shy on depth, bracing tannins.

Different but good.

Peppery, smoky, delicious. Warms the soul.

Short notes today... Nice nose. Green olive. Nice entry, but then turns quite bitter/sharp mid way. Grippy sharp tannins. Not good for me.

I took a flyer on this and am pleasantly surprised. It reminds me of Gamay with a firmer tannic structure. Very nice!

Had a somewhat aged garnet color with a wide rim. Minimal fruit. Started tight on initial pour with firm tannins. Tar smoke primary with some veggie and floral notes. Tannins softened and it gained complexity as each hour of decanting passed. Really fun and different for those of us less experienced with aglianico but venturing into full body reds. I loved this as an occasional thing.

A bit dense, fruit repressed. Better the second day but not a particularly good example of the region.

Black plums, black berries, red currants, funk, earth, tar, veg notes and smoke. Chewy tannins.

Cherry ~ Rose aroma over time. Tabacco flavor. Very special in aroma. Later on spicy taste stood out@2200, X302, 170519

nose gives dusty earth inky sour black berries.....smooth black fruit here...with nice gummy tannins.
