Really singing tonight - better than the 2006. Bubbles are definitely slightly pronounced at first but this has real depth and beauty to it.

Apr 12th, 2020Been about 1.5 years since I had the good fortune to have one of these and I think this is quite improved with the age. Yeasty, bubbles are still very much there but very balanced, excellent body and finish, just a nice champagne.

Dec 25th, 2018Same rating as last time. Obviously Dom from 2004 is fun but this is a bit too austere for my taste. Simply does not hit every part of the palate in a meaningful way. Perfect bubbles and great yeast / toasty notes but lacking acid and a full mouthfeel. Still excellent but not at the level you’d expect.

Roasted coffee bean due to reductive winemaking style more evident than a month ago. Same bottling??? Fruit=orchard fruit from tart through baked. Very large yields in 2004.
