Renaissance Cornas Syrah

Awesome vintage and at a great point in its evolution. Long animalistic syrah, game, cigarette ash, rabbit fur, background of black pepper, smooth rounded tannin. Great bouquet jumping out, light on palate

Very elegant. Great texture. Opened up nicely.

Unbelievably good and 10-20 years too young.

Youthful that is showing well with dark cherry, berry fruit, graphite, smoke. lots of spice, licorice, violets & tobacco

This had lots of dark fruits, graphite, licorice, floral @ tobacco that is still youthful

Boatloads of black & red fruits, sweet & savory that is inky with licorice, floral & violet.

Deep & rich with a strong core of mineral along with a smoky, graphite note

And now, after 11 years, this wine shows really well. After 1 hour with air, no decanting, an amazing performance!

Was a bit closed. Took 3 hours to open up. Lovely classic Rhine style. Nice chocolate and tobacco on the nose. A bit tannic and good alcohol still evident. But nice. Will wait on the rest as this will evolve over the next 3-5 years.
