A dark cherry red, the '09 Domaine Bernard Baudry Chinon 'Les Granges' showed briery dark plum, tobacco, herb and tapenade aromas. Savory flavors of tart cherry in the mid-palate. Light and elegant mouthfeel with silky tannins. This Cab Franc matched perfectly with our grilled lamb chops.

Garnet ruby, medium-deep color. Extremely herbaceous with currant-like black fruit on the nose. I've seen other reviews say tobacco and chalk and I can see where they're getting that. Tastes of ripe dark fruits with fine chalky tannin, low acidity, and good minerality. Medium-light bodied. Finishes very balanced with fruit, acid, tannin, warmth, and that herbaceous note. Delicious. Very interesting wine. Some air definitely brings out the best of it, second glass was better than the first.
