I’ve been anticipating my first #chinon taste. This wine started out tight - right after pouring you get a pronounced meaty nose which opens up to floral and subtle vegetal notes and laid back dark fruit. Plenty of acidity on the palate, reserved red fruit, leather, dried violets finishing with structured tannins. Fantastic wine to have with food, but also delicious by itself. — 4 years ago
Captivating #chinon #cheninblanc - green apple, fresh herbs, rounded honey notes. QPR not that high up there for $30 but a lovely wine. — 2 years ago
Fantastic, classic #chinon - savory, subtle crushed black/blue fruit compote nose, characteristic #cabernetfranc green pepper and violet notes. Gushing acidity on palate, touch of cocoa, velvety tannins. This may be one of the most verstatile food pairing wines but just as enjoyable as a night cap. — 3 years ago
Why you don’t even bother opening Chinon Blanc until it’s had a few years in the bottle. What was simple, raw and mean in its youth is now becoming a fresh, focused and pure expression of bone dry Chenin. Fantastic. #gasnier #cheninblanc #chinon — 6 years ago
Domaine Christian Charbonnier a Crouzilles / vintage 2005 from magnum / #chinon that aged wonderfull, typical #cabernetfranc harshness that has softened., a nose with flint expressiveness, milkchocolate. Smooth taste without tannins. Fine wine. True to type. #loirewine — 6 years ago
My favorite #chinon yet. Black fruit, distinctive Jalapeño jam and bell pepper notes, faint violet. Beautifully balanced velvety palate, long mineral finish. Superb pairing with Provençal pork with black garlic and hazelnut vinaigrette. — 3 years ago
Deep ruby hue with fuchsia rim. Medium tearing. Nose is complex with notes of stewed strawberry and rhubarb, cherry preserves, fresh mint, lemongrass, coriander, ginger, and delicate leather notes. Medium acidity, fresh raspberry and strawberry and crushed gravel notes on the palate. #chinon #cabernetfranc #touraine #lespenséesdepallus #bertrandsourdais #domainedepallus — 5 years ago
Vintage 2014 / True to type #Chinon, perhaps a bit stubborn at the moment in taste, with archetypical #cabernetfranc taste, combination of red fruit, minerals, flint. — 6 years ago
