Tasted next to the Janasse VV from the same vintage. The Charvin was more red fruited and more tightly wound; unwilling to show all of its cards at the moment but there is undoubtedly a lot of character. Fiercely tannic. This has a bright future.

Aug 13th, 2018One of the most Burgundian vintages in the last ten years, secondary notes are starting to show themselves in the Charvin now. Notes of leather and mushrooms are beginning to join the beautiful brambles and candied red rope licorice fruit. While still a very delicious wine, it has lost a bit of the freshness that was so compelling upon release. This was my last 2014 Charvin and I’m happy to be drinking it now. Bottle No. 10409

Aug 26th, 2017At the Spectrum wine direct. Didn't rate. Good, much fruitier; nice and complex but sweeter than the others.
