Champelrose Cornas Syrah

Super tight - took better part of 3 days for this to open up. Such a baby. Will wait for other bottles. Slight smoke, game, damp soil, blueberry paste, and a whiff of peppercorn. Wish I had decanted it straight up for 2 hrs

My darling bottle at work right now. Straddles the pureness of Cornas with modern extract and FINESSE! Overwhelmingly broad on the nose and palate, with a soft pillow exit.

Give this 2-2.5 hours to open, when it does its spectacularly fresh with great depth. Violets, licorice, crushed rocks, blackberry, pepper and tobacco. Great stuff!

This is at an optimal drinking window. Probably the best bottle I have had from this vintage so far.

First time tasting wines from the producer. Still too early to drink but amazing.

Nice finish to my night. Very smooth with a dry finish.
