Significantly better than the 2008 Lynch-Bages I had the other night.

Domaine De Chevalier is one of the more underrated or under appreciated Bordeaux producers.

The nose shows; beautiful dry, red flowers, black currants, brambly blackberries, ripe; dark cherries & strawberries, black plum, hints of raspberries, anise, dry herbs, mid baking spices, loamy earthiness, dark spice, dry tobacco/leather, graphite, barrel toast, bright red flowers and liquid violets.

M+ dark meaty tannins. Ripe, juicy, gorgeous fruits; black currants, brambly blackberries, dark cherries & strawberries, black plum, hints of raspberries, red licorice, red to mid berry cola, touch of black licorice, anise, dry herbs, mid baking spices-light clove/nutmeg, cinnamon & light vanillin, dark spices with a little palate heat, loamy earthiness, dark spice w/ some palate heat, dry tobacco/leather, graphite, charcoal, pebbles, some soft mushroom, barrel toast, bright red flowers and liquid violets. Really nice rainfall acidity, well tensioned/structured still w/ age, nicely balanced with an elegant, smartly polished finish that lasts minutes and long sets on spice & earth.

15 yrs of good drinking ahead.

@BalancesRestaurant - Lucerne. Balance Restaurant is one of the very best meals I’ve had out in a very longtime.

Love the erroneous back label variety math. Pine box, tar, then bright, spicy mature fruit that becomes a touch balsamic on the palate. Tannins just relaxed enough to add depth. Really good.

It's easy to forget how God damn delicious Sauvignon Blanc can be...then you have something like this.

Beautiful red color. Pretty elegant full bodied red fruit. Stoney red apple and nice acidity. Great value. $49.99

One of 16 "first growths" of Graves. 66% Cab, 25% Merlot, 9% Petit Verdot. Bold, dark, and well-rounded. Definite winner, may have to stock up on this.

Beau au nez, graphite, mine de crayon, fruits noirs! Leger défaut en bouche par contre qui m’empêche de l’apprécier à son plein potentiel

Red fruit with currents and earthiness coming through. Well structured with good finish.

Deep ruby color, extremely rich aroma, fruity taste with a bit spicy. Black currant and raspberry flavor. Acidity seems to be more than tannin, though CS ratio is more than 60%. I could not find cigar taste. CS66/MRT25/PV9. Anyway, more than 2 hours is necessary for decanting. @2400, Winona, 170226

Not a strong vintage and it showed but all the fruit is there. Had a touch of green-ness when opened but after about 45mins of decanting it rounded out quite well. #恵愛ちゃん生誕祭 #杏子復活祭

2008 red. Disjointed and disappointing in terms of what I expect from Domaine de Chev. Lots of attractive qualities, particularly the California-like cassis fruit, but they didn't come together. Maybe just this bottle.
