I expected to like the Romanee-St. Vivant better but this was the winner among the two for me. Impossibly rich, elegant and mouth-filling.

Still young & not the best vintage, but still.

From magnum. Medium deep garnet . Lovely rose tinged nose , a bit earthy but delicate red fruit focused with lots of finesse . Not a big wine by any means but with lovely roundness and elegance . Soft rounded tannins and balanced acidity. Good length and energy. A real triumph for a much maligned vintage . Drink from now and over the next 10 years.

somehow DRC avoided the green that plagues so many 04 reds. This bottle was fabulous.

Brown edge stewed red fruit on the nose along with licorice clean and long layers on the center/back palate dark notes of menthol perfectly balanced long legs tart cherries. Ok - there is nowhere to go after this. What a finale!!!

Great stuff. Spice, clear fruit. A good nose. A touch of caramel on nose and palate I didn't get on the last bottle I had of this, and a grapefruitish? element too. Very small components but noticeable... Overall though very good
