Domaine des Lambrays
Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru Pinot Noir
The 2014 Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru, made by Thierry Brouin, has a typically leafy bouquet. There is something autumnal about the aromatics, and some red fruits are extant but certainly moving into their secondary phase. The palate is medium-bodied with an austere, slightly meaty opening. This is not a concentrated Lambrays by any means. It's a little dry and mealy in the mouth, though it has charm. (Neal Martin, Vinous, June 2024)

Showing really well! Still a great value in Grand Cru Burgundy. 2014 is quite accessible now showing lovely whole cluster spice, violets, stony minerals and dark fruit with fine concentration and good persistence. Very good.

Nov 28th, 2021Juicy red fruits with whole bunch stemmy notes coming through along with smoky nuances. A lovely bouquet. Finishes with a touch of astringency. James Halliday raved about this Wine and gave it 98 points. I was probably a bit stingy in retrospect with 93 points.

Jan 19th, 2018Medium red. Highly complex, aromatic nose combines raspberry, underbrush, flowers and spices. Juicy, energetic and mineral-driven, if a bit youthfully imploded (and still affected by the bottling). Not a fat wine but with its flavors of red berries, mocha, earth and brown spices it's an essence of Morey-Saint-Denis. The acids and tannins are not at all aggressive, which should give this grand cru relatively early accessibility. (Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2017)
