Domaine Dujac
Morey Saint-Denis 1er Cru Pinot Noir
The 2017 Morey-Saint-Denis Village from Dujac has a bright red cherry and wild strawberry-scented bouquet, quite Gevrey-like, vigorous and punching above its station in terms of complexity. The palate is structured like all good Morey should be, fine tannins, and though one can detect the whole bunches, they are the guiding hand, neatly enmeshed with the fruit. What a joyful wine. Served blind at Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion. (Neal Martin, Vinous, March 2023)

Mar 30th, 2023The 2017 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru is showing a little reduction on the nose; there’s some charry oak here, not quite as clean as its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, fine balance and finer tannins than Taupenot-Merme's La Riotte. This shows impressive delineation and elegance toward the finish, which is persistent and satisfying. An excellent Morey-Saint-Denis. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, January 2022)

Austere, pretty and the finish persists. Amazing for “village” wine

Jan 27th, 2020Medium ruby , quite wide garnet rim . Violets, rose and summer fruits , touch of smoke and earthy notes . On the palate quite structured , with red cherry , blackberry , blackcurrant , quite a mineral , earthy backbone . Nice density , and good fresh acidity , decent saline tinged length , slightly gritty tannin . Really developed well with time in the glass, showing more mineral and structure , great finesse. This is showing quite young still and will likely improve over the next few years and last well another decade.

Jun 30th, 2024A delightful Oaked Pinot Noir from Burgundy. The aroma has strawberries 🍓, red cherry 🍒, raspberries, slight oak (cedar, vanilla and nutmeg) and a hint of Forrest floor 🌳. The palate literally strawberries 🍓 and moss 🌿 with a hint of leather. I would pair this wine with poultry dishes or veal 😁.
