Light gold. Looks young. Took 5 hours to open up and show its stuff. In hour 6 this was cruising. Saline and sea shells, wispy lemon fruit, some honey, some white stone. The guesses from the fellas were 2002 Rav Clos and 1996 Rav Valmur. Shows how these properly stored aged Raveneaus can age effortlessly.

Light gold. Heavy in the glass. Memorable nose with notes of lemon, cardamom spice, white stone, mint and a little honey. At first, quiet and shy. After 4-5 hours of air this blossomed, and the structure and acidity came on. Lasting finish, coats the palate. Not the biggest of Clos, but still a really great experience. When you hit on one of these, it's a great night regardless of the other bottles.

A perfect bottle of '88 Clos. Couldn't ask for a better showing.

Buttery aromas and flavors up front, lemon, sea salt, just amazing cut, acidity and depth, super long, lingering finish, yet still very youthful overall, this is why we all buy Raveneau Chablis (Les Clos being the pinnacle), well, for me, “used to buy” (LOL)!! Amazing, a true WOW wine!!
