Domaine François Raveneau
Forêt Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay
Bright lime green hue. Pretty intense and lifted. Sappy and vibrant with lemon, chalk and a touch of sandalwood. Delicious

May 29th, 2021Lemon oil and chalk. A lovely balance and presence. Drunk with oysters that bring out the soft salinity beautifully. Not flamboyant or particularly intense or long but beautifully poised. Very pretty.

May 2nd, 2019Tasting Raveneau with @Anthony Lynch at arlequin makes for a good night! This 2011 foret was my favorite bottle. While all were great, this one was especially aromatic and complex, with fresh but savory notes of cheese rind, pink peppercorn, a really cool dried kaffir lime leaf note, stony minerals, plus green apple and lemon fruit. Classically structured and defined by acid, but there's so much more here!

1 person found it helpfulMar 4th, 2016More notes later. Sick. This started off with the Raveneau funk but then opened up into a beautiful, really juicy, mineral wine, but as goes at chez Raveneau a combo of deep terroir expression and deep Raveneau expression is always split down the middle. Gorgeous wine and it's just so Raveneau.

Oct 10th, 2015Maybe I just don't get it, but there's a grittiness to the wine that doesn't quite come together for me.
