Domaine Henri Boillot
Clos de la Mouchère Monopole Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay
A strong Citrus presence with Lemon and Lime with a big savoury mineral impact. Medium plus intensity. A pleasure to drink - see previous notes. Lives up to its Premier Cru billing from Puligny Montrachet. Juicy.

Feb 16th, 2022Interesting to compare this with the 1er Cru Les Perrieres from Henri Boillot from 2015 a few months ago. A touch of oak initially on the nose - caramel notes. Lemony and citric on the light weight palate, with stoney mineral notes and a noticeable saline finish. You can taste the well balanced oak on the palate. More minerality than most top notch Australian Chardonnays.

Jul 4th, 2021Pale Lemon in colour. Initial notes of honey and citrus. Refreshing and balanced with M minus acid, good intensity and noticeable minerality. The balance is exceptional with the oak perfectly integrated. An excellent wine but not raving, and sorry for being parochial, but there are many Australian Chardonnays I would rate as high, if not higher, at half the price although I do like Henri Boillot white burgundies.

Feb 21st, 2021As for the 2014 but a broader palate with less acid - less tension reflecting the warmer vintage. Dry Extract noticeable.

Dec 7th, 2017Un nez magnifique, incroyable, tellement fin, élégant tout en étant tellement expressif, la bouche a une attaque très ronde, elle est puissante et riche, mais aussi équilibrée, superbe maintenant mais grand vin en devenir. 93-94
Magnificent and gorgeous nose, elegant and classy, layers of white fruit, stony and mineral, the palate is rich, full, intense, yet so classy and balanced, very long finish, great now and with a bright future ahead of it.
