Hermitage Syrah

Ready now with clove, green peppercorn, blackberry, new leather, pipe smoke , and meat.

Cold day for a picnic, but this kept us happy and warm.

Opened a bit closed, but came around nicely. Still dense, compact and loaded with classic syrah flavors. Yum.

The most underrated vintage from chave. Absolutely delicious in my book.

2011 tasted 1/17 the best chave I've tasted incredible forward fruit opens to super complex spiced carrot cake creme cheese frosting and all black licorice bark smoke meat

Don't get much better.

There's wine...then there's #Chave. This 2001 #jlc #hermitage was absolutely stunning.

Firm tannin, full mid palate. Not showing great length yet, but tension bodes well for long term.
