A striking wine with beautiful grace and complexity. Plenty of time left to go but very impressive now. #chapoutier #lemeal #ermitage #hermitage #northernrhone #rhonevalley #syrah #ctbucklinwine — 8 years ago
Solid #syrah with #gamey touches and that sort of lavender black olive spice with potential for bottle aging. Very pleasant. #rhone #hermitage #crozeshermitage — 5 years ago

There's wine...then there's #Chave. This 2001 #jlc #hermitage was absolutely stunning. — 8 years ago
Solid wine given the vintage. Showing some age but still peppery and lively #syrah #hermitage — 9 years ago
Woke up after a few minutes in the glass. Pretty color with some rim variation. Incredible complexity and intensity on the nose. Ripe red fruit, flowers, meat, and herbs all blended together with very few distinct notes. Structure has melted away leaving a silky texture but a shorter finish. Drink now!! #marcsorrel #hermitage #ctbucklinwine — 7 years ago
Mesmerizing in its youth with decades of graceful aging to look for. #jlc #hermitage #syrah #2014 — 8 years ago

I’m sorry but this wine for me was rather rustic and for the price I would not buy it again. The tannins were a little coarse and the finish was just medium. The aromas were more about the leather and earth and less about the fruit or spice. I have been fortunate enough to drink some great Crozes-Hermitage and small producers from Cote-Rotie lately that I believe are higher quality at lower prices. In short, if you buy this thinking you’re getting #Chave #Hermitage at a bargain price...you’re not. — 4 years ago
