A study in contrasts and the Gros holds its own in the fruit department. Both are phenomenal wines. The Gros has great concentration for the vintage and a beautiful acid spine to it. Bright and fresh, with good density and the layers are just beginning to open up. None of the young toastiness that is usually one of the hallmarks of the style. Will still rate higher in coming years I would warrant.

May 29th, 2017Super fresh, juicy, overwhelmingly bright fruit with some herbal, charred wood and eucalyptus undertones. Acidic, crisp, grippy. This need to be put to rest for a long time to unfold, but such a joy to drink now.
