Oh boy…is this real life? A DRC from back in the days when Lalou was involved in the process. Enjoyed out of the Baccarat DRC glass which is hilarious to behold but I’ll be damned if wasn’t a pretty effective glass. The 1988 Richebourg pours a deep ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with heady notes of ripe and slightly desiccated red and black fruits: strawberry, spiced meat, red flowers, forest floor, and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long with lovely, savory minerals. There is so much density. Honestly, this still needs a ton of air. It’s remarkable how youthful it’s showing. Drink now with loads of patience and through 2038. Bottle No. 4044. — 9 days ago
My first time tasting this producer, I would be lying if I said I did not have very high expectations. Scents of earth , flowers, spice and oak. As one would expect from this vintage fruit but it is not overdone that is joined at the hip with some serious mineral overtones. I have no clue what this sells for at the cellar door but secondary prices have to be based on one thing, scarcity. — 12 days ago

Unfortunately I do not have much experience with St Vivant😉.My nose is assaulted by waves of red fruit, earth, roses and lots of spice. In the mouth juicy waves of red and black cherries are cut short by firm tannins.
Lots of hints, but no conclusions. — 12 days ago
Nice funky and forestry aromatics which faded after 3 hours. Taste reminded me of a Sonoma Pinot. Complex. Smooth and silky. — 4 days ago

The 2009 “Aux Brulées” pours a deep ruby color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe red fruits: Strawberries, blackberries, red flowers, smoked and spiced meat, minerals and fine wood. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannins and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. I found this to be relatively quiet compared to some of the other bottles we enjoyed on a night of really exceptional wine. I doubt it will be losing steam anytime in the immediate future. Drink now through 2039. — 9 days ago
