At its peak! So fragrant. Ripe, tangy dark cherry and plum. Tons of pungent crushed granite. Exotic spice. An animal note; not quite sweat, but on that vector. Less demonstrative in the mouth, very linear, but loads of flavors that end clingy and savory. A little tannic picker at the end. Very nice.

Lurid ruby. A highly expressive bouquet evokes fresh red/blue fruits, Asian spices and smoky minerals, along with a sexy floral pastille nuance. Sweet and penetrating on the palate, offering sappy raspberry, boysenberry and spicecake flavors that are given lift and cut by a spine of juicy acidity. Distinctly elegant in style. Finishes very long and smooth, with silky tannins that fold smoothly into the vibrant fruit. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, March 2018)

Definitely enjoying the gourmet in this iteration. Where as many other Beaujolais wines have that strawberry and almost perfumed fruit aroma and flavors this one was a bit more dense and chewy are. Still bright as a wine enough structure that it wasn’t flabby. I got this one by following the employer, Serge Doré, and I have personally liked his selections of family run small volume winds. They aren’t some star studded gala of high prices in high scores but good, delicious, and affordable wines.

Light yet substantial enough to be interesting. Starts with an almost tart or sour cherry flavor that fades as the wine gets air. Fun wine.

Stellar bottle of old vine Gamay from Pascal Aufranc. Open knit, aromatic & vibrant as the sun is warm. This record by Peel Dream Magazine is making me long for old Stereolab albums and my twenties. Both of these things are easy & approachable, but have all the nuance in the world just under the surface. Great and great.

I so wish I’d ordered a few more bottles of this. Way better than the bottle we had in December. Just delicious. Juicy acidity paired perfectly with a roasted pork tenderloin. Loved it.

Delightful. Beautiful color in the glass and a refreshing floral nose opens up to a light bodied, juicy mid palate. Nice way to wind up the weekend with Sunday dinner.

Old vine Cru Beauj. Great interplay with juiciness and earthy notes. Great thanksgiving wine to sip while cooking.
