La Croix Vieilles Vignes Pouilly-Fuissé Chardonnay

While a lot of oak is used in the making of this wine it is not so perceptible on the palate unless you count the oxygen impact from the long elevage. Freshness, along with the long skin and lees contact lead in the flavor and aroma department. Cheese, cheese rind, primary and tertiary citrus and orchard fruits play a tug of war. Great now but going to wait a few years more on this vintage. 92++

Have had mixed experiences with Denogent - well made but sometimes the oak has dominated. Not so with this bottle; elegant and balanced.

Very good but needs time for the oak to better integrate.

The bottle of this I had last week was much better. Too much perfumed oak on this one. Is there more bottle variation with half-bottles? (Both were 375ml)

Very minerally steely with a touch of oak.

Kermit rocks! Nicely balanced PF...

Jumped up Pouilly and it is gorgeous. Hints of reduction but layers of crunchy apple jacks with a strong brace of acid.
