Damn.
Lots of dark fruit/blackberry/cherry, lots of florals/violets, wafts of meatiness/spam/bacon fat, wild herbs, mouth tingling minerality/iron/dirt/sanguine. Lots of whole-cluster/carbonic character giving that bright and fresh profile. Label says 11.5abv but I'd guess in the 12.x range. Tons of freshness/acidity for the given fruit/flavor concentration it's absurd. Soft tannins.
Once I recovered from calling Gamay after a single whiff immediately after it was poured, I quickly filled into Syrah. Structure and weight really reminded me of some Wind Gaps.
This could be my perfect ideal for Syrah.

2010, Domaine Romaneaux-Destezet (Herve Souhaut), VDP Syrah. One of the best red wines that I had this year. What a nose, just wanted to keep smelling it. Red/black fruit with tons of spice. Low alcohol, integrated tannins make for an easy sipping wine. This over delivers for the price.
