Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite
Le Dix de Los Vascos Cabernet Sauvignon Syrah
Wonderful blend 85% cab, 10% carmenere, 5% Syrah. So smooth. It’s been open for 20 minutes; I’ll be excited to try it after 40. Pretty darn delicious though.

Aug 10th, 2022Big and bold on the nose; wonderful on the palate! Really smooth, slightly acidic, full of black currant, plum, leather, and a hint of dark chocolate. Beautiful blend at a beautiful (sale) price ($69.99)!

Feb 11th, 2022Les Dix is a Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend with Carmenere and Syrah, produced by the infamous Lafite Rothschild. It’s rich and complex with 3 distinct phases. At first, dark plums, cherries and blueberries appear. This is followed by slight hints of raspberry. The second phase that integrates well with the first, begins with peppers and tobacco notes at the tip of the tongue. Thirdly, the peppers, tobacco, nutmeg and cloves expand, covering the whole mouth. This is followed by hints of soft wood and medium chewy tannins. It’s an expertly crafted wine, showing off the Cabernet at the beginning, followed by Syrah at the end and with herbaceous notes of the Carmenere throughout.
