May 2nd, 2021What’s not to love about Dönnhoff. Minerally on the nose, broad, juicy and complex on the palate. Off-dry and delicious. Insane QPR.

Nov 14th, 2020The few years of bottle age brought out a little more complexity which only expanded after decanting. This paired perfectly with spicy coconut crab curry.

Aug 4th, 2020Vibrant, honeyed & fresh. Accessible and lovely on a summer night. The finish turns a bit dry with bright citrus notes. Way too generous & easy to enjoy. Will disappear quickly.

Jul 14th, 2020Bright straw with little undertones of gold. The insanely beautiful nose is full of green apples, white tea, lemon rind, and violets. This is a remarkable medley that you just do not want to stop smelling. About as laser sharp and focused as I can remember any Riesling, it is a Dönnhoff after all. So reserved and tight upon opening, it all changes when it hits your tongue. Medium bodied but with a slightly unexpected fullness, there is a recurring streak of honey which keeps things interesting. Creamy and generous in the mouth, there’s plenty of minerality and lemon zest on the palate. More green apples abound, along with flowers and even more honey. Wet stone and lime on the long finish. This is an incredibly pretty Riesling. You can hold on to it if you want, but I’m not going to.
