First off, what a lovely color. Deep wheat in the glass with profuse, minuscule bubbles. Looks so much mature than it really is.

An utterly ridiculous nose of white flowers and cherries up top with kumquat complimenting. Ripe apples and pretty peaches. Sensual drips of honey, lime zest, and marzipan. Dry, earthy aromas here, as well with herbs and cinnamon. A touch of rosemary. Outrageously nice and clean.

1/3 each of the usual suspects from a single vineyard in Trigny. Sans oak, fermented in stainless steel tanks with no malo. Aged for 36 months on lees, which is short for the house. Low dosage and thrilling acidity here with near perfect balance and enticing dryness. Rich and substantial with very nice tension.

Crème Brûlée in the mouth. Plenty of soil and herbs on the palate. Apples and fresh brioche with mint. Wild strawberries and ripe pears. Truly, a cornucopia on the tongue. Something new and different from one of the undisputed masters in Champagne.

Small red fruits, lemon zest, brioche. Not quite the intensity of other Egly bottlings but this is still lovely 😋

Liquid gold. Expressive bouquet of red baked apples, 'golden key' cake, white stone fruits with citrus touch. Vinous, well balanced, intense, but it's open and friendly.

40 years old vines from village of Trigny. Clay and limestone soils. Fermented and aged in stainless steel. 36 months on lees. Disgorgement in July 2020 with 2g/L dosage.

Toasty and yeasty aromas dominate on the first nose, with swirling smoky intrigue. It's full and rich on the tongue, with grilled brioche and creamy intensity paired with bruised apple skin and mashed apple flesh. Custard and viennoiserie characters give weight and body, while the finish perks up with bitter nut skin and greengage freshness

Beautiful colour - rich copper-gold. Opened up over an hour. Luxurious, ideal mousse. Beautiful fruit. 36 months on lees. Even though it’s the basic bottling it’s fabulous. God bless Egly for doing this shit. (& happy birthday to my lovely wife).
