A notch better than the last bottle 3 months ago, likely because I decanted longer. Perfect pairing with beautiful slow smoked and then seared steaks from Kinderhook Farms. Loads of cherry. Slightly chunky at this point but doesn’t detract, at least not with food. Delicious.

Forest fruits, plum, mint and requisite tar/spice box nebbiolo calling card. Super classic and lovely. Not dried out in the least like so many others

Smells like cherry dr pepper, marichino cherries, hot soil/clay. Taste: med bodied, med/high acid, medium tannins come in late with oakiness. Red cherries, hibiscus, pomegranate. Some bitterness at finish

This was pretty good value - classic Nebbiolo with some more floral and mineral notes

Last year at this time I was drinking Elio’s wines with him at his winery - what a delight!

Very nice wine but certainly some serious tannins on it. Quite a traditional langhe nebbiolo. With an hour plus decant this is very good - but would love to try in a couple years. Excellent quality for price. Dark cherry, some earthy notes, good acid, great mouthfeel. Definitely one for food. Would definitely be 9.0-9.2 with a couple years.
