What a nose and at 6 years old this is in a great place. Wild mint, spice, menthol, cedar, pine resin and mid season and sour cherries plus crazy florals. Very very high toned and aromatic. Doesn’t quite have the aromatic depth of the Grand Crus but it’s got the DNA. Elegant and juicy with luscious cherry, red currant and cranberry fruit. Lovely spice and so fresh. Great acids. Seems like it needs air as nose led me to believe it would be a bit more mature. Terrific litheness and such startling purity. The fruit sweetens with air. I’ll be back as this might get a lot better. Even in 8 minutes it went from a 9.2 to 9.4.

Nose has moist cedar shavings, cherry compote, mashed ripe blackberries, smokey strawberry, sugared graham cracker, light earthy/vegetative notes and faint alcohol.

Palate has under-ripe strawberry, dried cherry, dried blackberry, moist chalk, dry loan, mineral dust with mild tannins and a long finish.

This bottle seems slightly ackward tonight, even after a 5H decant. I'm hopeful it should reveal more tomorrow, as usual I underestimated how much time is needed for the Liaison.

A very solid pairing to a middle eastern style dish. We flattened chicken breasts, dredged them in a flour/za'atar/aleppo pepper blend, then gently fried. They were topped with a salad of scallion/lemon zest/walnuts/lemon juice. The dish was 95 points!

Sappy and snappy. Great nose of sour cherry ooze, cracked rock dust, graham cracker, and mossy undergrowth. Tremendous minerality in the mouth is accented by very good acidity. Very pure barely ripe cherry fruit is the first whack, but then quickly turns minerally as the fairly long finish evolves. Tremendous with a simply roasted chicken.

UPDATE: On night 2, after 24 hours under a vacuum closure, it was fading and showing an oxidative note. So drink ‘em if you got ‘em.

In a terrific place. Nose of smokey berries, cherries, pine resin, gorgeous detail. Very very aromatic. In a zone. Elegant and juicy, with lovely sweet fruit and loads of earth. Ethereal. Gossamer like tannins and lovely persistence. A great wine.

Complex, deep and expressive. But also a bit saturated and rich in a way that seemed slightly sweet when tasted next to a Burgundy. Incredible nose. Great wine for the money. Better on day two.

On the Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra, the youths (mostly college)! Our conductor Andris Nelsons is leading one operatic work from WAGNER (Die Walküre, Act I). This is our WAGNER weekend with the BSO, Acts II & III will be performed tomorrow afternoon and evening.

On the nose we have light cedar box, black pepper, ripe blackberries/strawberries and voilet blossom. On the palate we have chalky Pinot fruits, sweet spice notes, earthy/loamy minerals, ripe cherry and blackberry. In a very nice place tonight!

WOW 🎆...every time we open this bottle I am just floored at the QPR, nothing beats it. For a sub $30 Spätburgunder, I'll take this every vintage.

On the nose we have black pepper and luscious, ripe blackberries/strawberries, perhaps violet sneaking up on you.
On the palate, so smooth with chalky Pinot fruits, sweet spice notes, earthy/loamy minerals and oh the cherries, they just keep coming at you!

Finish is forever, minium 3-4 hour decant required.

Paired with some beautiful 🐖 chops from a 1/2 pig we purchased last fall... Farmer direct, it's the best way to know the quality of your food.

Tastes like ... liaison in a great year. Nice ripe fruit combined with classic E&M spice and a bit of licorice. Nose is ... hard to describe... because it’s sort of unique. Great wine. Bought from Fass selections.

Thyme on the nose. Elegant. I like the alpine 🌿 herbs description. It’s spot on. For the money the most complex Pinot on the market. Very highly rated because of the low price. If there is any chance you see this wine go get it. Tried many times this is one of my last bottles they do not last.
