Skins Grauburgunder

What a nose. This is natural wine but not the wild freak show types that can be undrinkable. This is in my sweet spot. Nose is glorious. Rhubarb, pine resin, applesauce, spices, minerals, citrus skin and some citrus flesh with just new nuances every 20 seconds or so. Also some tree bark and wet leaves. This is so clean, so clear and so precise. Insane aromatics. Palate is chewy and dense with awesome acids and tremendous structure and crunch. Elegant and sapid with amazing length and complexity. Wow that nose keeps getting more and more expansive and it’s just so clean. So juicy with loads of fresh citrus fruits and waves and waves of flavor and depth. Insanely long finish. I am blown away. Wow the confectionary aromas are just so mindblowing. Dizzying. Now after air this is gaining tannin and finesse. I am so impressed and usually I dislike this style of wine immensely.

Nose: Very interesting. Dried apricot. An hour in the nose is a masterpiece. Elegantly floral in an intense way.
Palate: mineral. Amazing dry fruit. Wow. Savory a bit.
Maybe the best orange wine on earth.
Fass selections.

Skin fermented Pinot Grigio. A grape which has some color. Incredible Orange hue. Pretty tannic. Super nice aromatics. Mandarine, 🍊 hint plum, Chamomile, touch bitter. Reminds me of a skin fermented muskat. Fine and elegant. And clear! Well balanced with good acidity. I assume this could age for a couple of years but i would drink it now- I asked Lyle to import this for me - there might be little to nothing in the US. Would pair this with cheese. Or just sip at the porch looking at the sunset.

E&M’s new top whites (with new labels) are pure genius - Cellar tasting 05/15/2024. This is skin contact Pinot Gris from old vines. Orange but clean and filtered no funk at all. This is simply the best I ever had. Ridiculous pretty amber color, quince jam, tart apricot, port wine and stone fruits. I am addicted. Florian Moll is ‘the man’. Unless the Michelin ⭐️ ‘s gobble this up (I heard from Florian dishes are being designed for this wine).
