Bourgogne Chardonnay
No notes night...Decanted 1H, no oxidation on this bottle...and of course it's the finale of our 2013 ES BB's.

Feb 21st, 2022Just concluded the annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again.
(Notes this year were avoided, but scores are honest.)

Our first official, post-COVID dinner with most of our old wine crew, plus new friends. No notes, but honest scores.
As amazing as our last bottle, if you can believe..
10H decant!

In one word, FRESH! A different bottle than our prior two experiences.
Nose has pineapple core, fresh pear, lanolin and wet river stone.
Palate has dried pineapple, lemon zest and (light) green apple peel on the medium finish, with zingy acidity. I hope future bottles show just like this!
The bottles of high quality producers are always a good value for character delivered at a regional level.

Nose has lightly oxidized yellow apple, pineapple core, (light) wet stones with minimal oak influence.
Palate has dried lemon peel, pineapple, almond flour and (light) green apple peel on the medium finish. Decent acidity, but faded, not disappointing, soild bottle.

Tasty palate cleanser during #MVON 6, some honey notes. Didn't get the Flint people rave about.

Nov 21st, 2015In pursuit of the perfect Bourgogne. A bit more interesting than the previous contender ('12 Boillot Bourgogne), but still doesn't bring a smile — unpleasant tartness just wouldn't go away, excessive minerality, feels almost dusty. On the plus side — better fruit is going on here, a bit more concentration and depth. Next!
