Clean medium ruby color. Medium + intensity aromas of ripe rhubarb and red fruit (plums, red apple, cherry jam) some anis and hints of licorice, subtle secondary aromas of oak (coffee and mocha) and tertiary aromas and flavors of dried red fruit (dried cranberries and prunes). On the palate it’s dry with medium acidity, medium+ tannin and high alcohol. Medium+ body and medium+ finish. It’s riper and has more ripe dried fruit skin quality tannins than say a St. Emilion, but it’s delicious and will evolve in a decanter or in the bottle for the next 7/8 years. #merlot #lazio #italy
