Excellent Spanish wine. Very spicy on the nose. Excellent medium body wine with just enough tannins to slightly dry out the mouth. Will definitely try this again!

Legit wine here: tasted this at the shop before buying as it appeared gimmicky to me, but it was delicious after being open for 2 days... this is not your fruit bomb of Yecla & Jumilla, this is serious Mourvèdre with concentration & polish. Gorgeous black fruit (blackberry & plum) mingled w/that savage animal & iodine, big minerality and white pepper, anise, cocoa, dust, damp Earth, and plastic. Broad & expansive on the palate - vivid, well-balanced thru finish. Over-delivers @ $14

Strange label (and name). I think they mean that they waited while it aged in an oak barrel. But death won’t. Or maybe the pirates won’t. On to the wine. Red. Like rose red. Not quite blood red. Hmm, smells oaked. Like it was on oak. Not like the Spanish wine on oak, but American wines on oak. Berries. And vanilla. In the mouth the vanilla is pronounced. Like a scoop of vanilla ice cream covered in blackberries sauce. It’s fine, but a bit overbearing. I’d like less oak and more astringent and acidic red fruits...

Very nice wine. Good nose. Well balanced but maybe a bit light on acid. Definitely a buy again!

Lighter bodied than the “xtreme” label would imply. Lets the oaky character shine through from start to finish. A little bit of blackberry fruitiness comes through before a drier finish that extends the barrel flavors.
