When I contrast this Chenin Blanc with Huet I imagine the Foreau stays close to its character for life: not quite austere, but serious & pedigreed. With 8 years on it already could easily ingest another decade or so with no less for wear & tear. The Huet on the other hand goes through Zelig like changes, and at times tastes purely Burgundian while others itโ€™s more Viognier- like.

Was a little muted out of the gate but put on weight and intensity with air. Give it at least an hour or another couple years. Very linear at this point

Gold color, medium+ viscosity and medium intensity. Oxidation and Botrytis on the nose: blue cheese, mousy, cider, bruised apple and baked pear, volcanic ash/smoke, red plum, flinty chalky minerality. Fruit went tart on palate, green apple, green pineapple, green mango, still honey saffron wasabi. Dry, medium body, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol, long finish.

This is intense and concentrated from the pop of the cork. Hints of honey on the nose along with the strong lemon & pear notes which coat the palate. The back end of this shows off an additional peach component along with vibrant & fresh acidity. Wonderfully complex & completely delicious.
