Frederic Esmonin
Gevrey-Chambertin Pinot Noir
Gevrey-Chambertin, Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, France
A cherry bowl facing the forest after a late summer storm. Manure and hay behind. There is lavender and hay. That is where this wine takes me. It has a sense of place, a wild red fruit soul. Much loved. A very important day too. 2013, great acidity

Young, but tasty. Bright red fruit, plenty of acidity and lots of pinot spice. Not going to change your life, but still speaks clearly of both pinot and Burgundy.

Light bodied, clean pure fruit, finish a little tart but balanced.

May 1st, 20162013, Frederic Esmonin, Gevrey-Chambertin, Pinot Noir. Very young but I had to try it. 4 more bottles for aging. This drinks well above the average Village Burgundy. Red fruit, acid, earthy and well balanced. Will revisit down the road.
