Just badass old school wine. This wine has a stellar track record going back decades. So delicious. I've had '92, '02, '11, & '12 this year, all were very prime examples of classic Napa flavors and terroir.

1 hour decant (decent sediment). A splendid inky purplish garnet color. On the nose: notes of black and blue fruit, forest floor, truffles, mint, pencil shavings, black olives. Taste: velvety, polished wine with blackberry/plum, cocoa, cedar, minerals, and a spiced oaky/graphite medium plus slightly astringent finish with some still there kicken tannins.

Excellent, tasty on first sip out of the bottle without any decanting etc.

Great wine, very unconventionally so for a Cabernet. Typical strong notes of Chocolate, Cherries and Vanilla. The nuanced aspect is the spice that happens when this wine opens up (allow to breathe for 10-15 minutes) - notes of peppers and jalapeños throughout that offer a wonderful complement to the usual depth of a bold California cabernet.

Dark fruit on the front with a nice earthy balance and medium tannins on the finish. Not as good as the 2010 but at half the cost a great value.
