Love these wines. Touch of CO2, hint of reduction. Sonnenheur is a sundial in the center of Juffer, planted at an 85 degree angle above the ville of Brauneberger. The village was renamed in the 1700’s to reflect the brown slate soil of the hill that dominates the landscape. The vineyard was planted in the 1600’s and largely managed and run by 3 “spinster” sisters until the Haag family started farming it in the 1700’s.

Aug 13th, 2017Just so utterly complex and rewarding, showcasing a whole peach tree garden, lemon juice, high-pitched floral additions, honeydew melon, enormous minerality and staying superfresh on the lengthy finish. Off-dry.

Beautiful wine. Mandarin, honeysuckle, rose, brine, enoki mushroom, aromatics, fresh, intense and elegant, sweet and deep, balanced with a long long finish

Jul 11th, 2016Really terrific! $40 at Wegmans. Served it Easter Sunday with Dad and the Riehls. Sweet but in a very good way. Complex, fruity, really actually indescribable for someone like me.

Peaches, honeysuckle, lilies, slight petrol, spring water. Around the table like a wave at every sip a "wow" was exclaimed. With Vietnamese bbq pork over rice. Nailed it.

Fantastic vint and really just an all out star. The openness of this wine really lets you take in the fruity and slightly floral fragrance. Very drinkable.
