Sampled at a trade tasting, the distributor told me that in the 2012 vintage the winery did not bottle their single-vineyard Barbaresco wines, rather this is a blend of all three sites. It's elegant as Gaja wines are wont to be, with caressing notes of tart pie cherries, red forest berries, lilting spice and feminine florality. Fine, supple tannins coat the entire palate, its a beautifully structured wine with length that suspends itself over the tongue. Finishes with nuanced minerality and a pinch of dried mint. Sample

Impressively light-bodied and barbaresco-like. Brutal tannins at the moment. Probably the most enjoyable Gaja I've had.

Gorgeous aromas with high pitched floral notes, pure fruit and well handled tannins and juicy, fresh acidity for balance. Long and more-ish.
