This wine is showing great strength at its peak - medium garnet color and pronounced aromas and flavors of violet, black cherry, wild strawberry, anise, tar, leather, truffle, forest floor, mushroom - a wild ride showing Nebbiolo in all its grandeur. Very long finish, high acidity but so well balanced with the fruit. Exceptional. — 7 months ago
Done deep tarry fruit. A bit of tobacco. On the palate autumnal flavors.. roses, plum. Good — 7 months ago
Smooth and gentle, with a prominent nose of crisp red fruit, somewhat dark, with strawberries, pencil shavings/graphite, with some notes of blood orange rind, maybe some coffee and a hint of vanilla and iron. Deep garnet color, with hints of purple to the edges. Palate is somewhat meaty after some time and air, with well integrated tannins, — 8 months ago
Got 90% of the cork extracted before it broke because the last part stuck to the inside of the neck. Ended up decanting about 3 hours ago (through cheesecloth), but OMG, simply soaring dark fruits, floral, and lovely road tar as well, this is still somewhat primary fruit wise, but tannins and structure are now soft, supple and broad in its flavors, very long, lingering finish, great Cru Barbaresco!!! — 9 months ago
Pretty good but surprisingly seemed like it was starting to go past its peak. Cherry, layers, long, silky tannins. — 5 months ago
Wow and wonderful. Best after 3 to 4 hours. Dense but lively character. Absolutely a gem of a wine. Drinking very well. — 6 months ago

This 2014 took about a half hour to shed some of its bottle funk and open up to a very lithe, whispery and extremely seductive wine. Hints of classic dried roses, with a bit of herbs and “tar”. Delicate on the verge of fading but lovely. A sunset just as it slips into the horizon. — 5 months ago
This 2018 Rossj-Bass continues to impress with its vibrant and layered expression. On the nose, the Sauvignon Blanc influence lends bright aromatic lift, offering ripe peach, zesty lemon peel, and a delicate touch of passionfruit, all woven together with nuances of almond and a whisper of jasmine. The palate is beautifully balanced, round and texture with a medium-full body, yet lifted by a lively, refreshing acidity. The finish is polished and harmonious. Effortless drinkability. — 10 months ago
Delectable - this is the Riserva. Dining at Do Forni in Venice which won a Grand Award for its Wine List from Wine Spectator. They have amazing verticals of Cuvées like Sassicaia, Solaia, Gaja, Tignanello etc…and, of course, Biondi Santi. I was hoping to pick a Soldera but only a magnum left at a hideous price. An aged tawny rim, tinge of orange. Burnt orange peel and Georgie thought a note of rubber. An Animale/Gamey note which didn’t detract. Dried cherry, loamy notes like the previous night’s Salvioni. This is Brunello royalty which is ridiculously long lived. At 19 years of age this is infanticide for Biondi Santi. We visited the winery about 6 years ago where I bought a 2001 which hasn’t even entered its drinking window yet. Medium plus tannins. This was a special treat. — 3 years ago

This brunello has fine tannins with flavors of berries and cherry, and hints of coffee. The finish is long, and smoky, with lingering fruit and spice. — 5 months ago
