Classical tones of tea, dark cherries and mocha in the nose. Medium heavy structure with a bit of sweetness in the finish, mixed with more mocha and chocolate. Very nice and refined.

Like cru beaujolais, barbera is a great summer red wine. This is ideal with food--bright acidity, notes of blackberry, herbs, fennel, tannins. A nice bitter note coarses through, leading to a palate-cleansing finish. Excellent.
