Les Peyrouses Côtes du Rhône AOC Red Rhone Blend
Sophisticated. Like a marriage between CHP and Cornas. Cotes du Rhone on a higher level.

Aug 16th, 2019Exuberant nose of violets, dark berries and white pepper. Touches of cedar, funk and bacon present initially but seem to blow off. First taste was best, as it quickly became a bit thick and grippy, though I’d still call the tannins fine grained. This is maybe middle of the road - neither modern nor impenetrably rustic. For a big Syrah this is glugable now but I expect it to start hitting its stride in 10-15y, as there’s plenty of stuffing.
