Decanted for 3 hours. Dark chocolate with rustic earthy notes. Deep plum, old leather, tobacco and hints of black berry and pepper. Has a lot of life left!

2002 vintage. Holding up well. Plenty of chocolate cake flavor and plum and structure that overcomes some missing, yet, expected complexities. More (still) brooding vs bruising. Oh those NKOTB…

Seductive and voluptuous without any gimmicks - the oak and abv are in check. At first mocha and lead pencil then heavy clove and burnt marshmallow. After it’s had some time to breathe, savory flavors of hoisin marinated Asian steak.
