Once it opened up some, it was beautiful, but it had a coconut suntan lotion to start. That blew off to show tart cherry, rose petals, and gorgeous structure.

A couple of Sangiovese's on the deck today!
2012 Isole e Olena Chianti Classico old school style, respecting the fruit. Savoury yumminess, layering up sour cherries with a refined texture & an edge of acid that would cut the fat of a Bisteccca Fiorentina perfectly. $35.

2010 Cepparello Brooding almost inky core of fruit holding its own in competition with an edge of new oak. Great to see it under Screwcap. Needs time. $99.

This was awesome! PnP. Dark red color with subtle maroon tones. Cedar, bramble, and rustic elements on the nose. Smells very high quality. Bramble with subtle earth and tobacco on the palate. Nice complexity with tannins that are integrated with a nice sweetness. I’ll be buying some!

Drinking nicely. Tannins well integrated - less dark fruit than a brunello - very nice.

Lovely. Beautiful. Lighter than a brunello - and a bit brighter- nice hints of strawberry and scintilla of chocolate on the nose. Bravo

Perfect for the night of a fed rate cut. A wine you can sink your teeth into.

Not quite as impressive as I thought it would be. A very good pure breed Sangiovese from Tuscany. Super indeed. Mustiness complemented the otherwise balanced structure. Some early smoke and cherry, but not much mid palate. No real complexity. Liked it, but way too.much $$$ for this experience.

So as a caveat, this is a rare happening when I don't align with
@Antonio Galloni . Maybe I didn't let this open long enough (1 hour). Clearly, there is something wrong with me tonight.

A nice sipper. Good grip. It not overbearing. Drinking well. Acidity will pair well with tomato sauce. 👍🏻
