Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett Riesling

Chef’s table. Half bottle. Faint diesel. Intense Mosel fruit. Melons. Honey/Botrytis Green Apples, very ripe pears. Stony minerality. Grapefruit.

Colour: transparent, very very light in colour – almost no colour at all.
Nose: very ripe apples and honey, still quite subtle. Seems fresh to the nose, light minerality – hint of dry fruit and raisins. Touch of quince, quite complex overall but at the same time delicate and subtle.
Palate: very good balance between citrus and ripe stone fruit. Blossom flowers and hint of honey. Very light in body, very fresh and ligh and with a nice velvety texture. Perfect sweetness for this category
– not too much not too acid. Gentle.

Crisp clean minerally and surprisingly no sulphur!

Amazing as a pudding wine. Hard to buy so bought the 2011 instead. I

Ripe pear, honeycomb, slight petrol, rainwater, moderate acidity 😋

2014 just not bringing it like a classic should

Very tasty, all the intense Riesling flavours with the sugar of a dessert wine. But not the beauty of a serious Sauternes.

Smells like petroleum. Tastes better than petroleum.
