Peach & melon with brisk acidity. Wine spectator #48 last year. At $25 you can’t go wrong.

I was expecting an over-oaked style at 13.5 abv. Pleasantly surprised. As this was not the case. A nice balance of ripe orchard fruits and hint of spice, finish with slight bitter almond. Lacks density on the mid palate. Apparently this is a WS top 100 wine? No way.

Decent body and sharp acidity. No evidence to me of malolactic fermentation. Presents as simple. Quick purchase at the closest liquor store/wine shop that was open in downtown den Haag!
