Kiona Vineyards Red Mountain Estate Reserve 2022, Washington State

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Nose of sweet cherries, currants, light oak, spices and herbs.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with cherries, raspberries, light oak, chocolates, peppercorn and light black tea.

Nice length on the finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a tasty Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from Red Mountain in Washington State. Starting to show complexity and good balance. Tangy and spicy.

This 3 year old is still young and tannic, and will get better in a few years. Will continue to age nicely in the next 7 to 10 years.

Not your typical Washington State Cabernet, which is nice to see.

Elegant, but already enjoyable, even by itself. A good food wine too.

A blend of 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot. Aged in (44% new) French Oak barrels for 22 months. A small production of less than 5,500 bottles.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

$65.
