Kir-Yianni Estate
Ramnista Naoussa Xinomavro
Excellent ringer for a Barolo, dead on with tar, dried rose petals, bitter red fruits and spice. Dusty texture, fine velvety tannins that firm up on the finish. The classic velvet glove with the iron first Barolo is known for, but this my friends is #xinomavro from #greece #greekwine

Aug 14th, 2015100% Xinomavro, imported by Vos Selections. Upon opening, an extremely inviting nose (cigar box, cherry cola, earth, spice) and unforgiving palate (hard and acidic, while relatively light in color and weight). I had read this compares to old-school Nebbiolo, and that is definitely my closest touchstone. Very excited to see how this develops.
