The 2007 Vinehill Chardonnay is deeper gold than the 2006. The aromas are less distinctly mineral with less complex spice. The aromas are more of drawn butter ripe citrus some with some apple notes. The the strength and core of the 06 is stronger but this is a delicious absolutely ready Chardonnay.

4th of July BBQ kick-starter from @Albert Camilleri. Medium dark gold. Albert thought it might be a bit oxidized, and we concluded it was a bit advanced. He noted a recent 2006 was much fresher. This one had a touch of hazelnut, apple and pineapple. Still enjoyable, but check in on this one soon.

Smells of light honey. Slightly acidic. Has opened up nicely over 30-40 mins. Great legs! Great honey taste. This has opened up so very well.

I love these young but I am constantly amazed at how poorly they age. Fruit is gone and nothing but muted, watered down oak remains. Past its prime and another disappointment for an "older" Kistler chard. Drink these in the first 2-3 years and avoid pouring them down the drain like I've been doing.
