"Sumu Kaw" Syrah

Too much funk for me on Day1. Olive tapenade, smoked meats, but some farmyard animal notes are hard to get around.

'Natural wine' from El Dorado. No new oak, instead a pure expression of Syrah. A bitter brine olive character makes it unusual, but the intensity and depth of flavours also set it apart. (2013)

blk tea, wood, lots of acid, seems light for a syrah

Killer Syrah from what tastes like Northern Rhone...NOPE...Sierra foothills in the house!! Tannic structure, dark meaty fruits. One of the only La Clarine wines I've had that I wish I'd cellared rather than crushing straight to the dome. Favorite from them thus far. Need more.

Seemed a little lacking in fruit
