Laetitia Vineyard & Winery
Nadia Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
This week, my Friday's Cabernet, was paired with a category 3 Hurricane.
Deep ruby/ inky in color with a short dark ruby rim.
Tight nose of blackberries, blueberries, cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, wildflowers, black pepper, spices, chocolates and smoke.
Bold, full bodied and a little harsh, with medium acidity and nice legs.
Fruity and bone dry on the palate, with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, earth, leather, light green pepper, chocolates, tobacco, herbs and peppercorn.
Medium plus on the finish with firm, angular tannins and black pepper.
A Nice and enjoyable Cabernet Sauvignon from Santa Barbara County. Balanced, yet young, with a nice mouthfeel, and needs a few years to improve. Complex and interesting by itself or with food.
I paired it with steak and baked potatoes.
A blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Merlot.
Grapes are grown at around 3000 feet elevation, and aged for 18 months in Oak barrels.
14.2% alcohol by volume.

I don’t know a lot about flavors, but this almost has a spice to it, almost like a jalapeño

May 3rd, 2018This is an amazing blend! Nadia from Santa Barbara Highlands and Laetitia winery. The color is dark and opaque. The bouquet is raspberry jam on buttered toast. The initial palate is so smooth. Hints of blackberry and cranberry followed by a dry oaky peppered bliss! Absolutely no acidity and not too dry! WOW... I had this at a local restaurant called The Last Resort in Athens GA! - by the glass!!!! Finally a restaurant with wine in Athens!
FANTASTIC!

Overall 👍🏼
On the syrupy/heavy side, better if left to breathe
Smooth but strong flavor, rich
Slightly dry and earthy
