I’ve been fascinated by these older Lindemans bottlings ever since my first one aeons ago. Low octane, high acid Hunter shiraz with a confused identity makes for a rather interesting drink and table convo. The only thing Burgundian about it was the colour. Haha.

My first bottle of this 91’ Bin 8203 was unfortunately on the cusp of death. I decided to pop open another one and thankfully, second time’s a charm. Shitty cork still, but the wine poured out in great shape. Sweet red fruits, almost like preserved cherries; floral, leathery, and a touch spicy, with a juicy, silky palate. Quite a treat!

Bin 8203. Little red berries, mulberry, red blood orange, leathery, oregano, balsamic, minerally, cola....and a lot more it just keeps changing. Fantastic wine.

Bin 8203, 1991. Only 11.5% alcohol. Cherries and other floral red fruits. Took a while to get going but it really sang. On and on. Incredible. 97pts

Thankfully the cork was in good shape and the wine in even better shape. Just delightful, so perfumed with exotic spice. Highlights how well Hunter Shiraz can age. Like an old Burgundy!

Absolute ripper. Great wine for great occasions. Nose of lavender and ripe fruit.
Palate notes of red berries, citrus, and light notes of cola/sarsaparilla. Awesomely complex and huge, great quality acidity and linger. Yeah boi.

Serious wine. Surprisingly after a good decant it was still quite tight but after a good amount of time it was singing like a soprano. Savoury tart like red cherry flavour with amazingly maintained structure and acidity . Superb
